The longest coding job AI can finish half the time has grown from about 4 minutes of expert work for GPT-4 in 2023 to about 12 hours for Claude Opus 4.6 in early 2026.

Three to six months after 10 March 2025 falls in June-September 2025. Anthropic later reported more than 80% of code merged at Anthropic was written by Claude as of May 2026, and says leadership has estimated 90%+ when scripts and experimental code are counted (When AI builds itself). That is one company, not 'the code' in general.

The page itself adds (July 2025) that updates 'push the median back 1.5 years while maintaining SC in 2027 as a serious possibility', and (Dec 2025) that adjusted medians were longer, e.g. Eli Lifland's was 2030.
